The following was released today by Randy Kessler of Kessler, Schwarz & Solomiany P.C.:
Former NBA veteran and two-time NBA Championship winner Jason Caffey is being sued in Fulton County Superior Court for his failure to pay child support. The former University of Alabama standout and Atlanta resident owes an arrearage of close to $74,000.00 plus attorney's fees in excess of $5,000.00. For almost two years, Mr. Caffey has failed to fully pay, or has completely ignored the monthly child support obligation that he agreed to in October, 2002. Randy Kessler, lawyer for the mother of the child says "To get this far behind is appalling." A hearing is expected to be held Friday, January 12, 2007 at 8:00 A.M. before the Honorable Cynthia D. Wright, unless the case is resolved before that time.
