KANSAS CITY, Mo. - April 20, 2020 -- New to Packline Materials Handling and Ultrasource LLC, the roll handling equipment with extra-long reach and forward rotating clamp, is designed for rotating and positioning rolls of foil or film onto mandrels in a processing line. Constructed from stainless steel, this roll handling solution is suitable for the food, drinks and pharmaceutical industries.

The roll clamp attachment with extended reach is designed for the lifting, rotation and handling of rolls of film or foil. The bespoke lifting solution was designed in response to a customer requirement to lift and transport rolls from the vertical position, and then to rotate the roll for insertion onto a mandrel in a packaging line.

A longer reach was required in order to access the mandrel within the packaging machinery. The clamping attachment was designed with extended clamp arms to facilitate the easy transfer and access to the mandrel.

The attachment has a gearbox with manual handwheel for the rotation of the rolls to and from the vertical to horizontal orientations and a further handwheel provides the roll gripping and release actions. The rolls are securely gripped by the core. This mechanism has a torque limiter fitted so that the clamping fingers do not over or under tighten. This attachment is also available with a powered roll rotation.

These features ensure a quick, easy and simple transfer with minimal operator effort which means that the rolls can be handled surely and safely with minimum effort and complete confidence.

The attachment has been designed to provide a high load capacity with great strength and durability as well as enhanced wear resistance. It is very easy to use which provides a simple and safe action and is entirely suitable for the pharmaceutical and food industries and similar hygienic applications.

Suitable for rolls of film, foil, paper and various packaging materials, this attachment is backed up by a full bespoke design service so ensuring that the right solution can be made to suit most requirements.

All Packline attachments are fully interchangeable and can be easily fitted or removed from any model of ‘Compac’ lifting machine that is fitted with the quick release system.

This lifting equipment has a maximum capacity of 225kg (496lbs); however larger capacities, and to suit other types and styles of reels with their materials, may be available on request.
