      TROY, Mich., Nov. 11, 2011 -- Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) today announced a two-year pledge totaling $20,000 from the Meritor Trust Fund to support the new Freedom Center located in the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.<br><br>The Freedom Center is a world-class reception and hospitality area designed to welcome military service members and their families to Detroit, whether passing through or in Detroit for an extended period. All off- and active duty members of the armed services, family members and veterans, are invited to enjoy this new airport amenity.<br><br>"We are honored to provide support to our nation's warfighters and their families as they travel through Detroit," said Tim Burns, vice president, Defense for Meritor. "Meritor is dedicated to serving the warfighter in the field as well as during their travels. In 2009, Meritor was recognized with the Pro Patria Award, presented by the Michigan National Guard and Reserve for the company's exceptional support to its employees who serve in the U.S. military. Specifically, the company was recognized for its employee military leave program that includes:<br><br>    Paying the difference between military pay and the employee's base salary so the employee's family can maintain its current standard of living.<br>    Employees receiving pay differential continue to earn savings plan benefits.<br>    Employees on military leave can elect to maintain their company benefits package while on leave.<br>    Vacation accruals continue while on military leave.<br><br>Meritor has produced drivetrain components for U.S. military fleets around the world for more than 100 years.
