Have you seen the vintage fabric floral dress at the Chelsea flowers show?

Have you seen the latest flowers at the Chelsea flowers show? Something seems far too familiar, and I think it was my dress! The vintage fabric floral dress that I was wearing blended in so well with the flowers, I may as well been on display! My dress, which I am so proud of, was made with my two hands and with the help of Spinster's Emporium - an online shop specialising in vintage fabric, retro buttons and vintage haberdashery, as well as everything else that is lovely in the world of fashion and craft. But anyway, back to my dress. I purchased a vintage sewing pattern and a few units of Little Lady, Vintage Fabric http://www.spinstersemporium.co.uk/shop/little-lady-vintage-fabric-p-707.html , and got my hands to work. The vintage sewing pattern was a little rough around the edges, but that is understandable as its vintage and the condition of the packaging will age easily. I was also impressed by the descriptions and names of all the retro fabrics, as well as all the beautiful layouts and photographs, it's a quirky dream to play interactively with. I don't think there's anything better than a vintage floral print from the 1960's. 1960's vintage fabric with its red and white flowers are strong and the navy blue works wonderfully is my fiery hair.

I have no idea where Spinster's Emporium finds all of there beautiful vintage fabrics but my, I am jealous. I am just so thankful that they are around, and will be here whenever I need a little pick me up. The next week or so looks like a rainy day, so I think I may bag myself a few more purchases. I am so in love with all floral fabrics, and especially "Floral's Whirl wind", which has such a beautiful description: "Windswept poppy and cherry red flowers dance around with deep burgundy brown leaves happily float around in the tonal tornado winds. Mixtures of cool grey, lilac, beige and crisp white make the winds." It's like reading a love story or a truly scrumptious recipe. Vintage fabric has been my life, and to make sure that these little treasures go to good use, I think I may make a quilt. That way the beautiful retro patterns will close and melt together and I can look at them for time to come. And my grandchild (if my quilting is good enough) can marvel at the beautiful colours that vintage fabric holds. Thankfully, so I don't spend all my money at once, Spinster's Emporium even has "Bags of Inspiration", a selection of wide range of hand picked vintage fabrics that are colour and theme coordinated, that will help the crafting begin. To stay on theme with the beautiful floral inspiration that I picked up from the Chelsea flower show, I think that I'll purchase a bag of Summer Flower Fling, and get my friends to buy a pack, and we can all make parts of it together, almost like a friendship blanket. If we manage to finish it, I may even send in a photograph to thank Spinster's Emporium for helping discover the wonders of vintage fabric and patterns. What a gem. http://www.spinstersemporium.co.uk
