FareCompare Alert: Delta Air Lines is launching a network-wide sale for tickets requiring 7-day advance purchase. The average fare reduction is $281 in the 10,685 city pairs affected. This is the largest single fare sale this year.

FareCompare identified this change first using its proprietary airfare tracking technology. Subscribers to FareCompare email alerts were informed of these fare changes at 5:30 pm ET on Sunday, November 12. Delta's new fares will be available for purchase at midnight on Delta.com and travel agency sites.

These reduced fares are good for travel through December 12 and must be ticketed by December 5. Travel is not allowed for the peak travel days of Thanksgiving (November 22, 25 and 26).

These reductions are network wide and also apply to Delta's hub airports of Atlanta, Cincinnati and Salt Lake City.

In the past, reductions of this scale have triggered a competitive response. FareCompare will continue to track this unfolding situation.
