Asian MobileLink has been awarded Asian distribution rights for the mobile game "Crank," based on the action movie of the same name starring Jason Statham. The agreement comes as a result of a relationship struck earlier this year with Toronto-based Silverbirch Studios to facilitate distribution of its various mobile content throughout the Chinese mainland, and other markets on the Pacific Rim. Silverbirch is the licensed developer for Crank Mobile.

Described by Justin Chang on Variety.com as "a down-and-dirty actioner that follows a rugged antihero trying to outrun death by keeping his adrenaline flowing." Gamers can play as Chev Chelios as he tries to stay alive after being injected by a deadly poison that threatens to stop his heart.

Asian MobileLink will distribute the game in China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Korea.

Kenneth Cheung, Chief Operating Officer of Asian MobileLink, said, "We’re excited about the newest addition to our portfolio. ' Crank ' has generated lots of attention as a fast-paced action movie and we believe it will be even more popular as a mobile game."

Distribution of the game in Asia will commence immediately according to the movie release schedule in Asian MobileLink’s target markets.
