Los Angeles, California, OpticFit, the leading provider of technology solutions, announced that it has signed a supply agreement with Sun Cellular., a leading mobile telecommunications company, to upgrade its network infrastructure.

In response to its clients' demand for affordable wireless public and private telecommunication services, Sun Cellular is rapidly enhancing and upgrading its existing network infrastructure. As Sun's exclusive supplier, OpticFit will supply more than 75,000 km of cabled optical fiber, including Opticfit's own OpticCable and standard single mode fibers.

"OpticCable is OpticFit's non-zero dispersion shifted fiber optimized for applications in networks covering distances between 50 and 200 km. It is especially designed for operating in systems carrying densely packed data at high transmission rates. OpticFit is delighted to supply this efficient and cost-effective fiber optic cable to carry Sun Cellular's optical transmissions," says Peter Dulay, CEO.

"What makes the uniquely designed cable special is, it doesn't need several regeneration or compensation devices to transfer optical data," added James Jordan, Marketing Director.

Angus Maine, Network Project Head, said, "We were looking for multiple suppliers for standard single mode fibers only, yet were impressed by OpticCable's capability to provide optimum performance. Not only this, OpticFit's professionalism to meet Sun Cellular's tight deadlines closed the supply agreement."

Sun Cellular holds the distinction of being the fastest growing mobile network provider with more than 10 million subscribers supported by its over 5,000 cell sites nationwide. It is currently installing a 3,000 km optical fiber network around the country.
