Today LIVESTRONG announced a donation of $211,306 from Eagle Golf, the Dallas-based golf course management corporation, at a celebratory luncheon at the Golf Club at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas. From Sept. 1-Oct. 3, all of Eagle Golf's 75 golf courses participated in "Take a Swing at Cancer" to raise awareness and funds for the global fight against cancer.

"LIVESTRONG is grateful to Eagle Golf and its patrons for supporting our work on behalf of cancer survivors everywhere through 'Take a Swing at Cancer,'" said LIVESTRONG President and CEO Doug Ulman. "This partnership demonstrates the power of sport in furthering social change and we welcome the golf community to the LIVESTRONG movement."

"We are so proud of the effort made by our Eagle employees and the wonderful support of our Eagle members and golfing guests. We are already working on next year's plan to continue and expand our support for LIVESTRONG. We intend to build a long term relationship with the LIVESTRONG team and their fight against cancer," said Eagle Golf CEO Joe Munsch.

The "Take a Swing at Cancer" campaign donated portions of green fees, special event proceeds, tournaments, dues, initiation fees, auctions and raffles to the campaign benefiting LIVESTRONG. In addition, Eagle Golf served as the leading sponsor of the "Swing FORE! Yellow" Charity Golf Classic benefitting LIVESTRONG on Aug. 31 in LIVESTRONG founder and chairman, cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong's hometown of Plano, Texas. "Swing FORE! Yellow" was co-hosted by Armstrong's mother, Linda Armstrong Kelly, and her husband Ed Kelly, as well as Steve and Lee Nagel.
