Expected to draw a crowd of more than 15,000 tri-state area business, community and political leaders, the first of its kind NY XPO for Business will debut Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

XPO is currently supported by most of the leading trade associations and we are working with major borough, city and state business organizations to build a show that truly represents the business community of all of New York City

"XPO is currently supported by most of the leading trade associations and we are working with major borough, city and state business organizations to build a show that truly represents the business community of all of New York City," said Marc Sherer, whose company, Event Management, is producing the show.

For this event, Sherer contacted all five borough chamber presidents for their support. "Although each borough is unique, I wanted this show to represent unity for the entire business community," Sherer said. All five said yes and collectively approached Mayor Michael Bloomberg to address the business community as the show’s official keynote speaker. Mayor Bloomberg is scheduled to speak at the "Five Borough Chamber Luncheon."

"I think I can speak for all of the city’s chambers when I say that this is a show we can all be proud of," said Manhattan Chamber President Nancy Ploeger. "Coming together to support the needs and foster the growth of small and mid-size businesses within the city is essential. This show represents what can be achieved when we work together toward a common goal."

Joe Connolly, whose Wall Street Journal business reports are heard by millions on WCBS 880, will kick-off the show at the North Fork Bank/WCBS Small Business Network Breakfast.

For the remainder of the day, attendees are invited to tour more than 400 booths and participate in their choice of ten educational tracks to include over 50 seminars covering sales, marketing and advertising, business management, technology and more. Lastly, the region’s largest Holiday Season Kickoff Networking Party, featuring Aztec Two Step Live, will close out the show. Admission is free to the Exhibit Hall, seminars and networking function. There are nominal costs for the breakfast and luncheon.

"We’ve designed this event to be filled with programs and sessions that will offer significant value to our exhibitors and attendees," Sherer said.

NY XPO 2006 for Business is sponsored by Aetna, North Fork Bank, Microsoft, Time Warner Cable, Staples, Chase Manhattan Bank, conEdison, United States Postal Service, OPEN from American Express, Skyline Manhattan, PrimePay, Synesis IT, Merrill Lynch and AllService Event Technology.
