Biltmore Who's Who introduces VIP Lifetime member Sharon Striker Kayser.

Sharon's interests in television broadcasting began back in 1984 when she was working at the local Cablevision Company in Bonita Springs, Florida. When the position was opening for Traffic Manager at WSFP-TV in March of 1989, she applied and was hired within the week.

Sharon Striker Kayser now works at WGCU-Television/Radio in the Broadcast Building at Florida Gulf Coast University. She has been a part of the University System for 19years and she is an Inaugural Employee of Florida Gulf Coast University with 14 years of service.

She started working back in 1989 when the station was known as WSFP-TV and under the University of South Florida. Starting out as a Clerk Typist in the Television Traffic Department, she received promotions to Sr. Clerk Typist and then to Broadcast Specialist and now holding the title of Sr. Broadcast Specialist.

At this time her current job title is Television Traffic Manager. Her job details the continuity and quality of WGCU's On-Air look. Her responsibility is the final broadcast and recording schedules for both the Analog and High Definition TV channels. She also manages the Television Media Inventory.

Sharon had the opportunity of meeting several Public Broadcasting Employees from the main PBS station in Alexandria, Va. She served on the Traffic Advisory Committee for PBS from 1993 to 1996 and made many friends throughout the country that work with Public Television subsidiaries. She prides herself by being detailed orientated and maintaining accuracy. After many changes since 1989 and are now fully automated and ready for the change-over to High Definition Television in February of 2009.
