72andSunny, the L.A.-based creative powerhouse for worldwide brands such as Nike, Discovery Channel, 2K Sports and Quiksilver, announced today that it has won the digital business of CKE Restaurants, Inc., parent company of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's hamburger chains.

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are known as much for their big, delicious, charbroiled burgers as they are for their marketing campaigns targeting their "young, hungry guy" customers. The CKE system includes more than 3,000 locations in 43 states and in 13 countries.

72andSunny will focus on connecting online with Carl's Western U.S. and Hardee's Midwestern and Southeastern young male audience.

"We were hired to deliver exceptional creative work to new and existing young male targets," stated Matt Jarvis, Chief Strategy Officer for 72andSunny. "We're coming in to ensure the digital campaigns are as creative and edgy as their commercials."

"We're thrilled to be working with 72andSunny," added Brad Haley, EVP Marketing for CKE. "Their client roster reads like a veritable who's who of cool brands for young guys. And their consistent track record of using their creativity to engage that group, and generate sales from them, made 72andSunny the ideal choice for our brands."

First creative work is scheduled to break in September, 2009.
