At the mention of the phrase "eating disorder", many may think of a teenage girl facing anorexia as a means to be ultra thin for the latest fashion. The truth is that eating disorders are complex in nature, and their roots go much deeper emotionally and psychologically than many realize. In addition, eating disorders affect much more of the population than once believed. In fact, the spectrum of eating disorders includes not only anorexia and bulimia, but also binge eating and compulsive overeating. As such, teens and adults, male and female, may find themselves battling the low self esteem and emotional triggers which lead to an eating disorder. With this in mind, Costa Rica New Hope has expanded its therapeutic services to include the treatment of eating disorders.
With a holistic approach to treatment, Costa Rica New Hope offers a team approach to address client concerns. Medical staff assists with physical needs and nutritional planning. A physical fitness guide works alongside the client to improve physical wellbeing and balance. A counselor helps to identify triggers of unhealthy eating patterns, to address dysfunctional beliefs and emotional issues, and to develop healthy coping strategies.
Located in the Central Valley of Costa Rica, the facility is located in a relaxing and tranquil setting. With a spectacular mountain view, clients may go for a hike, enjoy the lush gardens, or swim in the pools or thermal waters. The inspiring and rejuvenating setting of Costa Rica New Hope truly is an excellent place to get away, to gain some clarity, and to get started on the path to wellbeing.
