Century Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNTY; Vienna Stock Exchange) announced today that the new gaming law has been approved in Central City, Colorado, USA, on January 20, 2009, joining Cripple Creek and Black Hawk.

By a vote of approx. 90% yes votes residents of the former mining community agreed to raise the maximum bet in casinos from $5 to $100, add roulette and craps, and allow casinos to operate 24 hours a day. This measure also requires a statewide vote on future gaming tax increases. According to state law the changes become effective after July 1, 2009.

"The approval of the expanded gaming law in both our markets in Colorado is an important milestone for our company. We expect a positive impact for the Colorado casino industry and an opportunity to provide a more attractive product offering for our guests," said Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Co CEOs of Century Casinos, Inc.

This local referendum approved constitutional Amendment 50, which was passed by the voters of Colorado in November 2008. Following Cripple Creek and Black Hawk, Central City was the third and final gambling town in Colorado to vote on and approve the new gaming law.
