Verathon Inc. is pleased to announce that it has once again been ranked in the prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Washington State, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the area by Deloitte, one of the nation's leading professional services organizations. Verathon(R), which is privately held, ranked 27th on the list with growth of 209%. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over a five-year period from 2003-2007. "New products introduced over the past year have helped build strong sales and brand growth for both BladderScan(R) bladder volume instruments and GlideScope(R) Video Laryngoscopes," said Gerald McMorrow, CEO of Verathon Inc. "Our employees, the cornerstone of our business worldwide, have remained steadfast in providing innovative and reliable products to health care providers to help them improve patient care."

"Sustaining high revenue growth over five years is an exceptional accomplishment," said Pete Shimer, Office Managing Partner of the Seattle office of Deloitte. "We commend Verathon(R) for making the commitment to technology and delivering on the promise of market longevity. We are proud to honor Verathon(R) to Deloitte's Technology Fast 50."

Verathon(R) designs and manufactures reliable, state-of-the-art medical devices and services that offer a meaningful improvement in patient care to the health care community. The company is best known for its BladderScan(R) brand, a line of noninvasive bladder volume measurement instruments used in Urology, Acute Care, Primary Care, and Extended Care. BladderScan(R) helps diagnose urinary-related problems such as enlarged prostate (BPH) and overactive bladder (OAB). BladderScan(R) is also clinically proven to prevent unnecessary urinary catheterizations and reduce rates of urinary tract infection. This is of significant importance to hospitals, in light of changing Medicare reimbursement for catheter-related UTIs, beginning in October of this year. The company also manufactures and markets the innovative GlideScope(R) Video Laryngoscope (GVL(R)). GlideScope(R) provides a consistently clear view of the airway, enabling quick intubation, and offers significant benefits to Anesthesiology, Emergency, Critical Care, and EMS professionals. The GlideScope(R) Ranger is also being used by the military in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2003 and $5,000,000 in 2007, be headquartered in North America, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.

Winners from the 16 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.
