The producers of the
Creative Cities Summit 2.0 (CCS2) today announced that Crain's Detroit
Business and its new Web site, Detroit Make it Here
(http://www.detroitmakeithere.com), are major media sponsors for the
ground-breaking conference on contemporary city making and the creative
economy coming to Detroit Oct. 13-15, 2008.

"Crain's Detroit Business is the go-to source for business information
in Southeast Michigan," said CCS2 Producer Peter Kageyama. "Its sister
publications, including the new Web site, Detroit Make it Here , have great
influence on what people know and talk about when it comes to cities
throughout the region and beyond. The Crain's team has been an invaluable
source of help and expertise as we build toward a very exciting conference
in Detroit."

CCS2 will present a dynamic and engaging dialogue on how communities
around the world are integrating innovation, social entrepreneurship,
sustainability, arts & culture and business to create vibrant economies.
The event opens on Oct. 12 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit
(MOCAD) with an "Unconference" centered on the theme of Detroit 2.0. At the
"Unconference" the audience will pick the topics and lead the discussion.
The CCS2 conference continues the next day at the GM Renaissance Center.

"Detroit is a creative hotbed, actively pursuing support and
recognition," said Michelle Darwish, editor of Detroit Make it Here and
Business Lives editor of Crain's. "The Creative Cities Summit will showcase
our creative assets and give us the chance to connect with creative thought
leaders from around the world."

CCS2 participants will include a variety of creative professionals,
activists, educators and community leaders sharing their experiences,
projects, successes and failures as they re-imagine and rethink cities.

Those interested in attending are urged to register today at
