The Board of Trustees of Children's Miracle Network has appointed Scott Burt as interim president and CEO. Burt has been with Children's Miracle Network for more than 20 years, has served in a number of senior positions and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer.

In his position as COO, Burt has played a critical role in the organization's most important initiatives, including partnerships with nationally recognized corporate sponsors as well as the organization's recent international expansion. Burt joined Children's Miracle Network as the controller in 1986.

"Scott's appreciation for the organization's mission, combined with his superb operational skills, make him the ideal choice for this position," said Dianna Morgan, Vice Chair of the Board. "He is respected by all of Children's Miracle Network's key constituencies and we are fortunate to have his leadership and vision directing the organization."

President and CEO Jim Hall resigned today in light of reports concerning private business activities that took place prior to his employment with Children's Miracle Network. The Children's Miracle Network Board of Trustees was unaware of these activities until Wednesday, Sept. 17. A smooth transition is assured given Scott's long history with the organization.

Children's Miracle Network will continue its important work of raising funds for the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals, which treat millions of kids around the country.
