The nation's largest bi-partisan women's business group, Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), released the following statement regarding the selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate:

"Of course, we are always excited when women shatter glass ceilings, so we are delighted Governor Palin was given the opportunity to be a Vice Presidential nominee. We were equally excited that Sen. Clinton, in the words of Gov. Palin 'left 18 million cracks in the highest, hardest glass ceiling in America,' WIPP will work with both parties for continued growth of women owned businesses," said WIPP President Barbara Kasoff.

On Monday, WIPP and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council will host a coalition of 30 women's business organizations in unveiling the "Economic Blueprint - The Women Business Owners Platform for Growth" at the 2008 Republican National convention. Created as a call to action for Congress and the next administration, the Economic Blueprint outlines the public policies necessary to help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses in the 21st Century.

Special guests at the preview event will be RNC 2008 Victory Chair and Senior Advisor for McCain 2008 Carly Fiorina, President and CEO of the SBE Council Karen Kerrigan, chairman and CEO of Carlson, Inc., U.S. Sec. of Transportation Mary E. Peters and Ann Sullivan, Government Affairs for WIPP. The event will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Brit's Pub, 1110 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis, Minn. 55403-2405.

The Economic Blueprint was unveiled earlier this week for Democratic lawmakers during the Democratic National Convention.
