The 11th annual Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk For Women -- the largest fundraiser of its kind for women's cancers in the nation -- will be held in New York City on Saturday, May 3, 2008. The Run/Walk starts in Times Square and finishes in the East Meadow of Central Park.

Tiki Barber, of NBC's "The Today Show" and "Football Night in America" and S. Epatha Merkerson, star of the broadway hit "Come Back Little Sheba" and NBC's "Law & Order," together with featured Revlon celebrity brand ambassador and actress Beau Garrett, will join an expected 40,000 participants for the 2008 New York Run/Walk, an annual Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) event (the Los Angeles Run/Walk is the following Saturday, May 10).

The EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women was launched in 1993 through the combined efforts of Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman and EIF. Since inception, nearly $50 million in grants have been made from the combined events (New York and Los Angeles).

"Since the first EIF Revlon Run/Walk, hundreds of thousands of women and men have come out to show their support for this cause -- either personally, or for a loved one. It is their dedication and their commitment to find a cure that has made the run so successful," stated Ronald O. Perelman, chairman of Revlon, Inc., co-founder of the Run/Walk and co-founder of the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program. He adds, "The resources that are now available as a result of that support has allowed for significant advancement in education and research for this disease that affects so many women today."

Proceeds from past EIF Revlon Run/Walks have funded cutting-edge research, contributing to the development of the breakthrough gene treatment Herceptin(R) as well as other targeted therapies, bringing new and innovative treatment approaches to women's cancers worldwide. Monies raised have also helped numerous organizations in providing education, advocacy and outreach services to those affected by women's cancers.

2008 New York event beneficiaries include: The Actors' Fund -- Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, Cancer Control Center of Harlem, CancerCare, Columbia University Breast Cancer Screening Partnership of NY -- Presbyterian Hospital, Gilda's Club New York City, Gouveneur Diagnostic and Treatment Center; Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening and Early Detection Program, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore-Einstein Cancer Center, Nassau University Medical Center, The William F. Ryan Community Health Network, National Breast Cancer Coalition, National Women's Cancer Research Alliance (NWCRA), New York University School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York and YWCA of Brooklyn Sister Strength Program.

"It is hard to put into words the incredible level of support we receive each year for this event," says Lilly Tartikoff, co-founder of the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women and co-founder of the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program. "I wish I could personally thank every person that has contributed to helping us move closer to a cure because without them we wouldn't be where we are today. Every single person that joins us in the Run/Walk is truly a gift."

"This past fall I lost my mom to a three-year, hard fought battle with ovarian cancer," Lisa Paulsen, president and CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. "I've made a promise to her and my dad, we won't stop until we cross the finish line and find a cure. More than ever before, I'm truly grateful for the enormous support we receive from the entertainment community, helping us raise much-needed funds for crucial research and support programs to help the women we love."
