Miracle Mile Art Walk Gives Neighbors an Opportunity to View More Than Forty Stellar Galleries

WHO: More than 40 art galleries and art museums participate in "Miracle Mile Art Walk" held on the third Saturday of each month in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles.

WHAT: "Miracle Mile Art Walk" is organized by the Arts & Recreation Committee of the Mid City WEST Community Council which promotes and supports the visual and performing arts & recreational venues by identifying the participating organizations, supporting their community outreach, and ensuring their long term viability as stakeholders. The April host gallery is the Korean Cultural Center, 5505 Wilshire Blvd. An artist lecture and opening reception will be held at 2 p.m. Balloons will identify the Center. A special tour of 3 additional galleries will immediately follow the artist lecture at the host gallery. Participants will ride to the galleries on the Holly Trolley. Each gallery will offer an introduction to the gallery and the exhibit by the gallery owner, director or artist.The Holly Trolley shuttle, courtesy of Councilmen Tom LaBonge and Jack Weiss, will make a continuous loop stopping at participating galleries, beginning at Mark Selwyn Gallery, 6222 Wilshire Blvd. DASH and Metro buses will also service the area. Bicycle groups are encouraged. Guests are encouraged to walk or ride between each participating gallery. Mention Art Walk for free entrance to LACMA & MAK Center.

WHEN: Third Saturday of each month from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The April Art Walk will be Saturday, April 19, 2008 with the reception and artist lecture at 2 p.m.

WHERE: Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles. A reception and artist lecture will be held at the Korean Cultural Center, 5505 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036.
