January 15th, 2007 - Did you know that you could have been the next generation Shakespeare or Elton John? When I spoke to a group of my friends, more than 90% of them did not have any idea first hand of their talents. http://www.artisticpursuit.org is an excellent resource that will allow young talents to grow into full-blown professionals.

When I browsed through this site, I knew that this was going to be very different from a whole lot of other sites. As I saw that this classified into music, arts, video clips, I also observed that this site has a lot of flexibility for users to grade their uploads. After some research, I hit upon some websites that promoted music clippings, video clippings, poetic samples and more. I got interested and found that each of those links had been visited by thousands of people. Instantly, I knew that this was a way I could get my friends popular in an instant.

Before suggesting this site to my friends, I decided to take some more research on the topic. I found out that there were a couple of things that had to be followed - 1) Most of these web links did not allow vulgarity or obscene words, 2) Popularity for the sub links took some time to come. I had to make sure that my friends knew this before they could start thinking on the lines of submitting their music or video clips to http://www.artisticpursuit.org .

I spoke to a couple of people personally. These people gained a lot of recognition for their work through this site. They told me that normally it is the video and the music section that gets a lot of clicks as opposed to the artistic section like poetry or fine arts. In fact, they told me that more than 75% of the clips anyone posted on the website got noticed. That was quite a bit of a lead for me to tell my friends.

Finally, I did manage to convince my friends that they need not do any kind of stage shows or solo acts. All they had to do was to capture images on cameras or record their performance and upload them on the link. I found that close to 90% of people who had joined the site joined in last year. In essence, this is free publicity for a budding musician or photographer.

So, if you are a budding musician or a photographer or a poet, get on to the internet and do some research on websites that will promote your work. You never know - you could be the next Elton John or Shakespeare.
