A collection of photographs taken by Katherine Narducci opens for exhibition on Oct. 4th at 7 pm at Gallery 1988, located at 7020 Melrose. The show runs from October 4 - 7th

"These photographs encapsulate the native culture that I see fading from New York City" Katherine explains. They capture a time in New York City that Katherine sees as forgotten. "New York possessed an aura of unpredictability and creativity on every block. It was where families conversed on stoops, art was found on public transportation, kids played stickball in the streets." She put in plain words. With these photos Katherine isolates innocence in the city, when people in neighborhoods knew each other. Today neighborhood pride has been destroyed. Times Square has become a theme park and parts of the city have duplicated themselves and are shopping malls.

The photos depict Mo the butcher, Vinnie labeled the Mayor of Little Italy and colorful activists of Gay Pride Day.

This exhibition comprises photographs taken by the actress during hiatus and between filming The Sopranos, the critically acclaimed HBO series. In 1993 Robert Di Niro discovered her. He cast her as his wife in the film A Bronx Tale. She also emerged in the film Two Family House. She lives in Los Angeles where she continues to hone her career as an actress and photographer. She relocated to LA for work but she regularly reminisces about New York City where she was born and raised.
