The Range World Premiere at Dallas' Granada Theater

The Range,” the fourth film directed by award winning writer, Dean J. Augustin, has been selected for screening at the Granada Theater in Dallas, July 23rd through the 27thh. The Granada Theater is an iconic presence on Dallas’ Greenville Ave. The Granada Theater name towers on a marquee that has stood a hundred feet over Lower Greenville Avenue patrons since the 1930's. “It’s truly an honor to be included in the Granada’s busy schedule,” says Augustin. “Since The Range combines musical elements with documentary filmmaking the Granada is a perfect fit.” “The Range,” is a musical documentary that explores one of the most unique radio stations in the United States, KHYI also known as The Range. KHYI plays what its listeners call OKOM, Our Kind of Music, Hard Country. The musical elements included performances by Becca Dalrymple, Trent Summar & The New Row Mob and Dallas Wayne. According to actor Anthony Maru-Deserio, “The Range is absolutely amazing! After winning the American Cinema Foundation Screenwriting Contest, Dean started “The Good Fight - Digital Motion Pictures” to create, and promote his unique method of filmmaking. His first film, “The Secret Journal of Benny Travis,” won a Platinum Remi Award at WoldFest in Houston. Dean’s second film, “The Enemy,” won the prestigious Golden Lion Award for Best Documentary at the 2004 UNA George Lindsey Film Festival.
