Today, Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information solutions to the worldwide research and business communities, announced the immediate availability of EndNote(R) XI for Mac(R) OS X-the bibliographic management software used by millions of researchers, librarians and students. EndNote XI introduces custom groups to view and manage subsets of references, AppleScript(R) compatibility for key EndNote tasks, seamless connectivity with EndNote Web to simplify collaboration with colleagues and more.

Group References for Instant Access

With EndNote X1 users can drag and drop references into subject folders for immediate access to subsets of references. Each EndNote Mac library can have up to 500 custom groups, and action-specific groups are created automatically for search results, file imports and reference transfers from EndNote Web, the new Web-based research and writing tool.

More New Features

In EndNote X1, AppleScript can automate repetitive tasks such as writing text into record fields from another application, importing and exporting records in and out of EndNote, and formatting a bibliography of selected references. Shortcuts for these processes enable users to be more efficient, while ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Other features include the ability to view all authors for a reference in the main list display, organize up to 45 files per reference using the "file attachment" field, and integrate seamlessly with EndNote Web.
