EoPlex Technologies, the advanced materials company that manufactures miniature devices to generate, harvest, conserve and manage energy, announced today that it is the recipient of the Frost & Sullivan North American Specialized Manufacturing Technology Innovation of the Year Award. EoPlex receives this Best Practices Award in recognition of its development of the High Volume Print-Forming (HVPF(TM)) manufacturing process.

"We are delighted to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan and to receive this award," said Arthur Chait, CEO of EoPlex. "Frost & Sullivan is a recognized industry leader in technology and market research. They did a thorough evaluation of our new technology and really understood the disruptive nature of what we are doing and the potential advantages. It is an honor to be selected by them."

The North American Specialized Manufacturing Technology Innovation of the Year Award is part of the Best Practices Award tradition of Frost & Sullivan. To recognize the award recipient, Frost & Sullivan's analyst team tracks innovation in key hi-tech markets. The selection process includes primary participant interviews and extensive primary and secondary research via the bottom-up approach.

"The EoPlex process represents a significant advancement in manufacturing techniques for complex components on a small, customizable scale," stated Sivam Sabesan, analyst for Frost & Sullivan. "EoPlex's technology enables manufacturing of any number of custom mechanical, electronic, fluidic and chemical components without regard to the complexity of the design or the number of substrate materials that go into a single finished component. That this can be accomplished seamlessly in large production quantities is another noteworthy feature of EoPlex's process."

The analyst team evaluates candidates on the basis of a set of qualitative and quantitative measurements. The analysts also consider the pace of research and technology innovation, and the significance or potential relevance of the innovation to the overall industry. The ultimate award recipient is chosen after a thorough evaluation of this research.

"What EoPlex has created is the ability to mass manufacture parts that were impossible to manufacture in huge quantities," continued Sabesan. "In some cases, products that were not previously manufacturable can now be brought to the market in a cost effective manner."

About EoPlex Technologies, Inc.

EoPlex Technologies produces components in layers using custom printing equipment and proprietary "inks" that carry ceramic, metallic or polymer materials to millions of locations. This allows the manufacture of components with integrated chambers, channels, sensors, circuits, reactors, energy scavengers, and other features. Many parts are created simultaneously in large panels and the only tooling required is low-cost printing masks. As a result, there is great flexibility to change designs quickly, allowing fast time to market and even modifications during full production runs. EoPlex is a privately held company based in Redwood City, CA and is backed by ATA Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Labrador Ventures, and Draper-Richards.
