AMERICAN IDOL(TM) and Marlins fans take note -- it's time to grab your glove, or should we say spoon, and head out to the Marlins Super Saturday game on April 7. But first, pick up some EDY'S(R) SLOW CHURNED(R) AMERICAN IDOL Light Ice Cream flavors at a Publix Supermarket on your way. Edy's Grand Ice Cream and Publix Supermarkets are giving fish fans the scoop on attending the opening weekend game between the Marlins and the Phillies for FREE and staying for an AMERICAN IDOL Finalists Concert and fireworks show with favorite IDOLS Ace Young, Jessica Sierra, Anthony Federov, Mandisa and South Florida's own Nadia Turner.

Fans can scoop up any three EDY'S SLOW CHURNED AMERICAN IDOL Light ice cream flavors from the top five line-up that includes -- Choc 'N Roll Caramel, Hollywood Cheesecake, Soulful Sundae Cone, Triple Talent and Take the Cake. To get the free Marlins game ticket and AMERICAN IDOL Finalists Concert ticket, you need to have a Publix Supermarket receipt showing the purchase of any three EDY'S SLOW CHURNED AMERICAN IDOL Light ice cream flavors, which can be taken to either the Florida Marlins Ticket Office at Dolphins Stadium (2267 Dan Marino Blvd., Miami), or En Miami Location (3701 SW 8th Street, Coral Gables), any time prior to the start of the 5th inning of the Saturday, April 7, Florida Marlins baseball game. For each three EDY'S SLOW CHURNED AMERICAN IDOL Light ice cream flavors purchased, a free ticket worth $20 to the game and concert will be issued.

The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m., and just prior to the start of the game, a South Florida aspiring Idol will take the stage and sing the National Anthem! Prior to the big game, Edy's Grand Ice Cream held its own AMERICAN IDOL try-out at the Hard Rock Casino with cool crooners singing for a chance to take center stage at the Marlins game. Judging the competition was Nadia Turner, who dished out complimentary comments more like Paula than Simon.

"Edy's Grand Ice Cream is delighted to bring AMERICAN IDOL excitement to South Florida," noted Bradley Bridges, Customer Marketing Manager with Edy's Grand Ice Cream South Florida office. "The flavor line-up not only sings to you, it hits a home run with every member of the family."

In addition to the game, ice cream lovers and Idol fans can cast their vote for their favorite Idol flavors at http://www.Slowchurned.com. The winning Edy's Slow Churned AMERICAN IDOL Light ice cream flavor will earn a permanent spot in the Slow Churned ice cream line up. Not only will Americans help determine the fate of each flavor, but each fan who votes for his or her favorite flavor will be entered for a chance to win great prizes including a 50-inch HDTV wide screen plasma TV, an AMERICAN IDOL ice cream party for up to 75 guests, and a grand prize trip to the AMERICAN IDOL finale! Voting and contest entries must be submitted by April 27, 2007.
