The International Economic Development Council and RespirTek, Inc. has partnered via IEDC's Economic Recovery Volunteer Program. This program deploys member professionals to assist business impacted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Volunteers provide technical assistance to EDO's, Chambers of Commerce, and businesses. RespirTek is an ELAP Certified environmental consulting laboratory specializing in commercial testing and analysis. The company, which is headquartered in Biloxi, Mississippi, concentrates in biodegradability testing; compliance with ASTM, EPA, ISO, and OECD definitions; product testing to determine if there is a reasonable chance for the product/packaging to achieve desired results; and compostability. Steve Vassallo, President of Swedish/American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (SACC), an expert in international economic development, is also a contributing member of the IEDC.
