Silver Spring resident and Gold’s Gym Midtown’s top personal trainer, Jerry Ward, announced today that he will be competing in the upcoming 2006 NPC BSN BodyRock Championship on Saturday, July 8, 2006. This year’s competition is scheduled to take place at The Center for the Arts Concert Hall located at George Mason University’s Fairfax campus. The event will commence at 10am and finals will begin at 6pm. The NPC BSN BodyRock Championship event is comprised of four major components including the Bodybuilding Championship, the Monica Brant Fitness Classified, the Figure Competition and the EndoRush BodyRock Health and Fitness Expo. From humble beginnings with just over 30 competitors to now drawing over 100 incredible athletes, The BodyRock Bodybuilding Championships has spawned many top NPC athletes. Standing six feet tall and weighing in at 220 pounds, Jerry Ward will be competing as a heavy weight in the Men’s Bodybuilding Championship. “I feel great and I’m glad the competition is finally here,” stated Jerry. “This is very exciting, and with my intensive training regiment, my body has never felt better. I am ready.” A native of Warren, Rhode Island, Jerry trained at a local gym in Seekonk, Massachusetts for twelve years prior to relocating to the Washington, DC region. The bodybuilding veteran was competing at 17 and wrestling professionally with WCW as “Lucian Bagwell” at 24. He now works and trains at Gold’s Gym Midtown and resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with his girlfriend, Angelica, and their two dogs, Bruno and Nikko. Internationally acclaimed health and fitness giant Gold’s Gym is one of the prominent sponsors of this year’s show. Representatives of Gold’s will be present at the event to consult with attendees on beneficial training and nutrition programs.
