NextEra Energy Capital Holdings Announces Sale of $400 Million of Debentures Guaranteed by NextEra Energy, Inc.

JUNO BEACH, Fla., June 7, 2011 -- NextEra Energy Capital Holdings, Inc. today announced the sale of $400 million in principal amount of its debentures. The debentures bear interest at 4.50 percent per year and will mature June 1, 2021. The debentures will be guaranteed by NextEra Energy Capital Holdings' parent company, NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE).
The debentures were offered to the public at 99.922 percent of face value to yield 4.51 percent when held to maturity. Net proceeds from the sale will be added to NextEra Energy Capital Holdings' general funds, which the company expects to use to repay a portion of its outstanding commercial paper obligations and for other general corporate purposes.
The sale was underwritten by a group that includes Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, and RBS Securities Inc. as joint book-running managers. The co-managers are Nomura Securities International, Inc., Santander Investment Securities Inc., TD Securities (USA) LLC, The Williams Capital Group, L.P. and UniCredit Capital Markets LLC.
