Anytime Fitness Gets Extreme Makeover

In pursuit of the optimal workout environment for its nearly one million members, Anytime Fitness, the world's largest co-ed fitness chain has enlisted the award-winning talents of Fabiano Designs, a New Jersey based design firm, to give its clubs a fresh, new look and feel.

"The remodeling effort is the next evolution in our club style," says Chuck Runyon, co-founder and CEO of Anytime Fitness. "It's also an example of how we're constantly striving to improve the member experience every way we can."

The traditional Anytime Fitness purple color will maintain a presence in clubs, but it will be complemented by softer and more natural tones. The 4,200-square foot gym floor has been re-organized to provide a more structured space, allowing key workout areas to be more visibly defined.

"Our goal was to help re-energize and evolve the workout areas by incorporating a warm yet energetic color palette while offering a functionally systematic design layout in the clubs," says Rudy Fabiano, Design Director at Fabiano Designs.

The club re-design adds three distinct schemes to the franchises' current design portfolio:

Earth- Color and tone derived from natural texture and light, evoking feelings of equanimity.
Fusion – Simple, stylish, and sophisticated with a modern palette that creates subtle emotion.
Classic – A new take on the gyms of yesteryear. Large color areas with dramatic contrast to provide energy.

In addition to these new design schemes, three walls are now required in each club:

Inspiration Wall – A chalkboard paint or dry erase wall to be used by members in defining goals and/or noting achievement. Located near guest lobby. (View sample)

Logo Wall – Displays the "Anytime Fitness" logo and a shelving unit for retail sales. Visible from entrance. Cultured stone can be chosen as an upgrade. (View sample)

Anytime Fitness in Apple Valley, MN was the first club in the country to get a "Fabiano facelift." Club owners, Vince and Theresa Gibbs chose the Earth scheme - a warm yet energetic design that matched the personality of their members. Members have responded extremely favorably to the revitalized facility.
