Teradata to Provide Tenneco with Enterprise Technology for Enhancing Business Analysis

Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), announced today that Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN), a leading global automotive parts manufacturer, is deploying Teradata technology to build its global business-reporting environment into a true enterprise data warehouse.
Teradata is providing Tenneco a data warehouse with its market-leading analytical software, Manufacturing Logical Data Model (MLDM) and professional and customer services. The new system also includes data integration software from Teradata partner IBM IIS, formerly Ascential Datastage.
“Further developing a global business-reporting environment at Tenneco is critical to our long-term success. This technology provides a more detailed view of our operations, which enhances our ability to analyze and take actions quickly,” said H. William Haser, Tenneco vice president and chief information officer.
As verified by current Teradata automotive clients, Teradata’s MLDM expedites the planning and implementation process. Tenneco will be able to measure progress more accurately, realizing a faster return on investment for the enterprise data warehouse.
“Tenneco is the first auto parts supplier to use our technology and MLDM, and we expect the company will see very positive changes almost immediately through the improved data visibility that delivers a new depth of reporting,” said Dan Odette, vice president of manufacturing solutions for Teradata.
