iDatix Corporation is Recognized as the Small Business of the Year by ITFlorida

iDatix, an emerging leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced that the company was recognized by ITFlorida as the 2008 Small Business of the Year. Sandy Baruah, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) addressed all attendees of the Awards Gala and Tech Forum on Monday, October 6. Administrator Baruah joined an impressive line-up of players in the economic development of Florida, including U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson; Florida Senate President-Designate Jeff Atwater; State CIO David Taylor; Sen. Jeremy Ring; Dr. Dale Brill, director of Gov. Charlie Crist's office of economic development; and Terry Tamminen, former Secretary of the California EPA. The awards ceremony was held Monday night at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Attendees had access to new information about both federal and state programs for starting or growing small businesses, including a presentation regarding Florida's new Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research, which aids entrepreneurs who are creating start-ups in high tech industries.

Finalists for the Small Business of the Year Award included other leading Florida-based companies Avocare, Black Box GPS and Virsona. This award for iDatix comes fast on the heels of KM World's 2008 "Trendsetting Product of the Year" Award for their iSynergy Platform, Tampa Bay Business Journals "50 Fastest Growing Companies" and "Best Places to Work in Tampa Bay" for the third consecutive year.
