Women's Wear Daily today introduces an all-new WWD.com, relaunched with a striking design, better functionality, video capability, blogs and daily stock reports. The revamped site will also feature exclusive content. The subscription-only Web site will have free access starting today for one week.
Dan Lagani, President of the Fairchild Fashion Group said, "The goal of the relaunch is to enable both our readers and our advertisers to interact with WWD how, when and where they want it. It's this approach that will also allow WWD to realize its full global potential."
WWD Editor in Chief Ed Nardoza said, "The fashion industry has been in the vanguard of the national economy in terms of sourcing and now distributing its brands. WWD will now move to a 24/7 international news operation, with a more global reach designed to service our readers with urgency and the most current information available."
In keeping with WWD's expertise in reporting on the global fashion, retail and beauty industries, the site will offer:
-- 24/7 breaking news alerts.
-- Up-to-the-minute reviews, videos straight from the runway and 10,000+ images.
-- Blogging: the new blog section will be called "WWDb."
-- Enhanced image and search capabilities; every article and image from the past 12 months.
-- Digital tear sheets; articles and images can be saved to personalized folders.
-- The most comprehensive coverage available on the Web of the world's major fashion shows including 10,000+ images, current and past collections and videos.
-- Enhanced suite of new e-mail products.
WWD.com's Web Editor who recently joined the newspaper is Amy Ditullio, formerly Managing Editor/Lifestyles of iVillage.com. Previously, she was Senior Programming Manager at AOL. In addition, Bruno Navarro has joined WWD.com as Online News Editor. Most recently he was the Morning News Editor for Todayshow.com, and before that, Senior Online News Producer for MSNBC.com.
