Diskeeper Corporation revealed findings of a recent IT study showing Defragmentation and Antivirus as the two most important practices for IT administrators.

A panel of 179 Network Administrators was surveyed recently on the software they considered vital to have on their Servers: 48% responded with "Antivirus/Symantec" and 45%, "Defrag/Diskeeper".

These results show how fragmentation and performance related issues have become the core of IT Managers' concerns; All Windows systems suffer from fragmentation but servers are particularly affected by it. Because of multiple user traffic, it is common to see some files broken into thousands - even millions of fragments.
