Stockhouse reports in resource news this morning, Thundermin Resources (TSX: THR) and Cornerstone Resources (TSX-V: CGP), 50/50 joint venture partners with respect to the Little Deer copper property in Newfoundland, provided assay results for their newly intersected copper zone. Hole LD-98-07D showed 2.2% Cu over a core length of 74.0 m, including intervals of 2.6% Cu over 13.0 m; 2.8% Cu over 7.3 m; 2.9% Cu over 10.6 m and 6.5% Cu over 8.6 m.
Other drill news from this morning's release includes the following: "Drill hole LD-98-07E, which was designed to test the new copper zone approximately 50 m above the intersection in hole LD-98-07D, was abandoned due to drilling difficulties. Hole LD-07-01 is currently being deepened to intercept the new copper zone approximately 100 m along strike to the southwest."

Yesterday on the Thundermin Bullboard, Stockhouse member 'LakeErie' offered up a post entitled "Happy Father's Day," and then said this: "Gentlemen and Ladies, I believe in the next few days we will all hear some news about the test results that will make us all very happy. The volume has been incredible in the last few weeks. I wonder if everyone is aware of this little gem?"
One look at the chart proves that volume has indeed been "incredible," at least on a relative basis. Before June the stock was averaging daily trading volume at the sub-250,000 level and the price was finding support near 15 cents. At the beginning of June the stock started to power higher on strong volume, hitting two million shares on June 4 with a price high of 35 cents. The stock now trades at close to 50 cents.
At this time there has been no formal reaction to the news on the Cornerstone Bullboard, but at 1:54am EST this morning (well before the news release), Stockhouse member 'willard2' said, "Glad to see the board has not gone totally silent on what used to be my favorite Junior operating in South America."
