SafeMedia Corp. Technology Signs MAYO Communications for National Publicity and Education Campaign

SafeMedia has retained MAYO Communications, Los Angeles to help spread the word that its core technologies are only solution to ending Online piracy. SafeMedia Corporation, based in Boca Raton, Florida has developed technology that completely wipes out illegal file sharing. "SafeMedia's 'Clouseau(R)' makes it impossible for anyone to send or receive any illegal Peer-2-Peer transmissions or file sharing," said President Safwat Fahmy, the founder and CEO of SafeMedia Corporation. "Clouseau(R) examines all incoming and outgoing packets of information, destroys all illegal P2P while legal P2P goes to its desired location without any delay."

According to a Motion Picture Assn. of America (MPAA) commissioned study the sound recording industry lost billions to piracy in 2005. "Sales of pirated music CDs were worth an estimated $4.5 billion and there were about 20 billion illegal downloads," said Study Author Greg Freeman, vice president, Public Policy and Consulting, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). LAEDC is a MAYO client, too.

80-Year Hollywood Comedian Jack Rothman also joins MAYO's client roster. Rothman, author and researcher, has been a professor at the distinguished level at UCLA and currently holds emeritus status. He also has taught at the University of Michigan and the University of Pittsburgh. He has a Ph.D. from Columbia University, Teachers College, where he organized his studies around sociological analysis. He also holds a master's degree in social work from Ohio State University.

Professor Rothman has had some twenty-five books on social and community issues published by leading companies (Wiley, Allyn and Bacon, Longman, Columbia University Press, Prentice-Hall and others). He has also published in the Nation, Los Angeles Times Op-Ed page, Social Policy, and The Humanist. After moving to Los Angeles, he turned his attention to the film industry, the dominant social institution in the region. He recently published, Hollywood in Wide Angle: How Directors View Filmmaking (Scarecrow Press). Rothman is spending his golden years, microphone in hand, spreading laughter among service organizations and nonprofits as part of the comedy trio Baby Boomers Plus.
