Silver Lake Appoints Dave Dewalt and Jason Rosenthal to its Value Creation Team

MENLO PARK, Calif., May 30, 2012 -- Silver Lake, the global leader in technology investing, today announced the appointment of Dave Dewalt and Jason Rosenthal, who will join the firm's Value Creation Team as Senior Advisors.

"Both of these industry executives bring a great deal of experience from their rich and diverse backgrounds in the technology sector, and we look forward to leveraging their expertise to drive strategic and operational initiatives across our portfolio."

Mr. Dewalt has more than 25 years of experience building innovative, industry-leading technology companies and has a strong record of driving revenue growth at startups, midsize and large companies. He has held executive positions at Oracle, EMC, Documentum, Intel, McAfee, Segue Software and Quest Software. In addition, he currently sits on the Board of Directors of Delta Airlines, Jive Software, Mandiant and Polycom, where he is Chairman.

A recognized expert on cyber-security, Mr. Dewalt has spoken on the subject at meetings and events around the world, including the World Economic Forum in Davos. In May 2011, he was appointed by President Obama to the National Security and Technology Advisory Council (NSTAC). Mr. Dewalt received his undergraduate degree in computer science and electrical engineering from the University of Delaware, where he was a NCAA Division I All American in wrestling.

Mr. Rosenthal joins Silver Lake from Glam Media, a global vertical media company, where he held the role of Executive Vice President overseeing product strategy, product marketing and business development. Mr. Rosenthal joined Glam Media following its acquisition of Ning Inc., an online platform for social networks, where he was CEO. Prior to Ning, Mr. Rosenthal was Vice President of HP Software's Business Service Automation product line. He has also held senior positions at Opsware, Loudcloud and AOL. Mr. Rosenthal is a graduate of Pomona College, where he serves on the Board of Trustees, and was awarded an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Silver Lake also announced that George Kadifa, a senior member of the Value Creation Team, will transition to a new opportunity as Executive Vice President of HP Software. "George has a wonderful record working with a diverse array of Silver Lake portfolio companies identifying opportunities for growth, operating efficiencies and innovation," said Mr. Giancarlo. "We thank George for his excellent contribution to Silver Lake and look forward to continuing our relationship with him as part of our broader network."
