The following release is being issued by Boston University:
WBUR, 90.9 FM, Boston's NPR news station, interviewed Bernard Madoff whistleblower Harry Markopolos today, the first media outlet to discuss the multi-billion dollar Ponzi scheme with the financial analyst since Madoff pleaded guilty and was sent to jail pending sentencing. Markopolos spent almost a decade attempting to bring attention to the scheme, but was repeatedly rebuffed by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Audio and videotaped excerpts of the interview will be posted at 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 16th. In addition to Monday's exclusive interview, WBUR will air a special report profiling Mr. Markopolos on WBUR's "Morning Edition" on March 30th.
