New York, NY - The Fast Pitch! Business Awards committee has named The Apogee Foundation "Top Non-Profit" in the First Annual Fast Pitch! Business Awards.

The Apogee Foundation is an international philanthropy that helps gifted emerging artists achieve their full potential and celebrate their achievements on the world stage.

Fast Pitch! is one of the fastest growing business networking communities. The Fast Pitch! Business Awards were thus created to honor businesses that have demonstrated best practices and attained highest distinction in their fields.

In evaluating and selecting their inaugural Fast Pitch! Business Award winners, Fast Pitch! assembled a panel of experts to perform a thorough review of over 1,000 nominees in nine award categories. Applying a combination of criteria including the results of open public voting, the Fast Pitch! expert panel conducted their analysis throughout December 2008 and January 2009 and announced the award recipients on February 4, 2009: naming The Apogee Foundation as the Top Non-Profit organization of the year.

Apogee Foundation President Kenneth Schneider said, "We are thrilled that Fast Pitch! has chosen to honor Apogee's global family of dedicated personnel in this way. We will all continue doing our best to live up to this distinction by sustaining the highest standards of conduct and performance possible in everything we do."

Kenneth Schneider, Apogee's founder, was working as an international financial attorney in Moscow during the 1990's, when he responded to the radical deterioration of the nation's performing arts training resources by galvanizing public and private support for revitalizing these institutions and providing a better future for those whom they were mandated to serve. Recognizing the potential global value of this work, Schneider and his colleagues incorporated The Apogee Foundation in the United States in 2004. Since that time, Apogee has vastly broadened its philanthropic reach and impact of its vision through consistently innovative programs for discovering, developing and celebrating human creative potential around the world.
