Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) is continuing to adjust its operations as a result of Hurricane Gustav. Flights to various airports in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and East Texas are subject to delay or advance cancellation as a result of weather conditions or airport conditions in the region. Airport condition assessments are ongoing at most airports affected by the hurricane.

In addition, Continental is monitoring Hurricane Hanna in the Atlantic and is prepared to make operational adjustments if necessary in the days ahead.

During the Labor Day weekend, Continental provided 1,200 extra seats out of New Orleans to assist with evacuation efforts. Employees flew into Louisiana prior to the storm's arrival to help with the evacuation flights.

No flights were operated at New Orleans on Monday, and resumption of Continental service at the airport, as well as at certain other cities, is subject to further evaluation.

Cities where Continental plans to continue regular operations or resume operations on Tuesday include: Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Jackson, Miss., Monroe, La. and Pensacola, Fla. Continental employees are poised to fly into affected cities to assist in restarting operations, where necessary.

Houston hub operations are not significantly affected by Gustav.

Customers booked on flights to and from applicable airports will be permitted a one-time date or time change to their itinerary without penalty for rescheduled travel. If a flight has been canceled, a refund in the original form of payment may be requested. Complete details are available at continental.com .
