Revenues for the first quarter ended June 30, 2008 were $2,069,049 compared with revenues of $1,229,071 for the same period a year ago, an increase of 68.3%. The Company reported an operating profit for the first quarter of $107,148 compared to an operating loss of $837,072 for the first quarter ended June 30, 2007. Transactional, maintenance and professional services revenues increased by 38.1%, 19.7% and 120.0%, respectively, offset by a decrease in license revenues by 57.1%. The increase in transactional revenues was primarily due to an increase in utilization of software solutions by current customers. Maintenance revenues increased in large part due to the annual maintenance fees generated under our license agreement with American Express Company. The increase in professional service revenues was due primarily to a professional services contract with American Express.

The results of UDW remind us of another data company CAM Commerce Solutions, Inc. ("CAM Commerce" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: CADA), a leading provider of highly integrated retailing and payment processing solutions for small to medium size traditional and eCommerce businesses. CADA, like UDW, has a history that includes high transaction growth with slower systems sales. CAM Commerce was recently acquired by Great Hill Partners ("GHP"), a leading private equity investment firm for $40.50 per share.

Once data businesses become profitable they usually are good generators of cash. IF UDW can maintain the 74% gross margins that it achieved during the most recent quarter the company should experience strong operating cash flow along with any positive revenue growth.

For Investors who are looking for a turnaround play in the data processing sector, UDW may be worth a closer look.
