ANSYS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANSS), a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced its inclusion on Software Magazine's 2007 Software 500 ranking of the world's largest software and service providers. ANSYS was ranked 122 internationally, with software revenue of $263.6 million. This is the first time that ANSYS has made the list, which is marking its 25th year.

The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world's largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, IT professionals, software developers and business managers who are involved in software and services purchasing. The magazine cited ANSYS as being "impressive in this revenue range [$100 million to $1 billion] ... with growth of 67 percent for the engineering simulation products provider." The article stated that the average overall growth of all companies making the list was 3.5 percent over last year.

"The 2007 Software 500 results show that growth in the software and services industry was healthy from 2006 to 2007. The industry continues to be dynamic with more than 98 new companies on the list this year for the first time," said John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. "The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners. It is a quick reference of vendor viability. That is content of value."

"ANSYS has grown consistently and substantially over more than 35 years since its inception," said Jim Cashman, president and CEO of ANSYS, Inc. "We are honored to be recognized this year by the Software 500 list, which confirms our solid presence in the global software industry. In addition to growing our business, we remain committed to invest in the future of the Company, further strengthening our ability to deliver the most comprehensive and advanced engineering simulation solutions."

The Software 500 ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2006. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at http://www.Softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents.
