China Sourcing Fairs Expand to India, Bringing Specialized Trade Shows for Electronics and Hardware & DIY to Booming Economy

Global Sources (Nasdaq: GSOL) ( http://www.globalsources.com ) is set to expand its highly successful trade show business to India with the launch of two new China Sourcing Fairs: Electronics and Hardware & DIY, expected to be held in November 2008 at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai.

Global Sources has licensed the China Sourcing Fair brand to Pico Event Management ( http://www.picoworld.com ), a subsidiary of Pico Far East Holdings Limited (SEHK: 0752), and has appointed the company to manage the events in India.

Global Sources' Executive Director, Sarah Benecke, said: "India is an important market for Global Sources exhibitors, many of whom want to sell into this booming economy. Plus, these new Fairs are the perfect solution for buyers in India who are looking for quality suppliers to meet rapidly growing demand for China-made products."

With 1.1 billion people, India represents a large opportunity for Global Sources. According to The Economist, India's GDP grew by 9.4 percent in 2006. Rising incomes, increasing consumerism in urban areas and an upswing in rural consumption are driving growth.

China is India's largest import trading partner, and imports have grown by more than 50 percent annually for the last three years. Mumbai is India's commercial capital, at the heart of India's booming retail sector, and home to many buying offices for major retailers and importers.
