Metro Sports Center, LLC Announces $200 Million Sports and Entertainment Development in Southeast Michigan

Metro Sports Center, LLC, a Detroit development company, has announced the creation of a 1.6 million square foot state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facility. The city of Romulus is one location currently under consideration.

The facility is expected to create 1,200 new jobs over a three year period. Metro Sports Center, LLC plans to break ground in the fall of 2007.

The new facility will include:

-- A 12,000 seat arena with 19 luxury suites
-- Three basketball courts, four hockey rinks, running track, indoor lacrosse area and a fitness area
-- Leisure, lap pools and wave surf pool
-- Two IMAX movie theaters
-- An education and technology center
-- Banquet hall
-- Child care center
-- Arcade
-- Bowling alley
-- Rehabilitation center
-- Hotel

Metro Sports has negotiated with a number of tenants and corporate sponsors for the facility, among them: Total Hockey of Michigan, HAP and the Henry Ford Health System, Subway, Snelling Personnel Services, Skateworks, Big Boy, Post Bar, Motown City Kids, Motown Eatery, Trifecta, ATM Networks, Constantly Roland Services.

Walsh Construction of Illinois and JL Dumas Construction are the construction managers and builders of the complex. Prime Design Systems, Inc is the architect and Randy Doran of Koll Development Company will coordinate the development phases.
