Krugle, Inc. the search engine for developers, today announced it has been named as one of the 100 leading innovators in software development by Software Development (SD) Times magazine. The fifth annual SD Times 100 list, published in the magazine's June 1, 2007 issue, recognizes Krugle as a winner in the Software Tools and Environments category, alongside industry peers such as Eclipse Foundation, IBM, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems.

"The winners of this year's SD Times 100 awards have demonstrated their leadership in shaping the software development industry," said David Rubinstein, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times. "We took into account each nominee's products and services, its reputation among development managers, and the new ideas it brought out. These select individuals and organizations are the ones we've identified as helping to move the art of development forward."

The judging committee for the SD Times 100 commended Krugle for its solutions that let developers go far beyond "outsourcing coding tasks [that] typically results in files full of copy-and-paste check-ins. Skip the outsourcing, and let your developers search the Web with Krugle's massive database of open code."

"Krugle is honored to be recognized with this award," said Steve Larsen, CEO and co-founder of Krugle. "Increasingly, good programming means being able to more efficiently assemble and integrate code, something we pioneered with the concept of search driven development. Our goal is to help developers find code, fix problems, and learn new things."

About Krugle

Krugle, the code search engine for developers, was founded in 2005 around the idea of search-driven development. Krugle's code search engine makes it easy for developers to find the code they need plus the related technical and licensing information to evaluate and use that code. Krugle lets developers save their search information, share it, and get comments and feedback on code. This essential development process of searching, evaluating and communicating are directly aimed at developers' needs.

Krugle offers a free public site targeted at individual developers looking to leverage publicly available code and the Krugle Enterprise Appliance, which allows development teams to search their internal code and related development assets.

Krugle crawls, parses and indexes code for over 37 different languages, as well as bug databases, blogs and wikis, and other software development assets. Results start with a single source file and also its relationship to any another files, to understand its use and dependencies. This ability to interactively browse and explore code in a meaningful context provides more accurate results and reduces the time required to make good code decisions.

Krugle is headquartered in Menlo Park, Calif. For more information, visit http://www.krugle.com.
