FNMC/National City Mortgage/FOA returns as title sponsor for the Champions Celebrity Tennis Weekend set to be held April 20th - 22nd. This mortgage company, with branches throughout the Nation, has been a long-term supporter of the Junior Tennis Champions Center and its mission: to create champions on and off the court - "Champions for Life."

This year's Champions Weekend fundraiser is like no other tennis event. Tennis enthusiast Wayne Bryan will emcee the weekend events. The highlight of the weekend will be the Saturday Celebrity Reception to be held at the Russian Embassy on Saturday April 21st. Former ATP and WTA pros, political leaders and Washington Area philanthropists will all come together to support this great cause. This event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to purchase a ticket to support the Champions Center's efforts in changing the lives of DC area youth.

The Champions Center began in 1999 with a goal to be the best junior tennis training center in the world. Since then, the program has produced ten National Champions in all age groups and has equipped players with the tools to become student-athletes at top universities or make a living on the professional tour. In addition to being the best on the court, the Champions Center strives to be the best in the community. By offering free kids day clinics and Financial Aid for underserved families, the program invites students from all backgrounds to learn the game of tennis. The Champions Center uses tennis as a vehicle for success in all of life's endeavors.

The Champions Program is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization. For kids and tennis fans, Champions Celebrity Tennis Weekend is three days of fun. For the Champions Center, the celebrity tennis weekend is necessary to support their threefold fundraising goal: community outreach, Financial Aid and subsidized pricing. This year the Champions Center increased Financial Aid from $120,000 in 2005 to $150,000 in 2006.
