Today Raceway Media, which owns and operates the popular automotive classified website RacingJunk.com®, announced Jerry W. Farmer of Hayes, VA as the first weekly $1,000 winner in its "Give Back to the Racers Tour" contest.

Farmer, a professional outlaw racer, who drives a 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo SS, and this year will be racing the East Coast Power Glide Promods series is thrilled to have been selected. "The sponsorship money is really going to help me out," said Farmer. "I'll use it to buy consumables like fuel, oil and spark plugs - the daily supplies that I need."

The contest, which kicked off last December at the Performance Racing Industry trade show, features a weekly giveaway of $1,000 for 30 consecutive weeks, culminating in a contest to determine the $15,000 Grand Prize winner.

RacingJunk.com® members will cast votes for their favorite car and driver to decide who wins the Grand Prize. Two runners-up will also receive cash prizes, with $7,500 awarded for second place and $2,500 for third. The three winners will be flown to PRI 2007 and awarded their prizes at a special ceremony.

Farmer, who was among 1016 qualified entrant for the first drawing, hopes that he'll be the Grand Prize winner. If selected, he plans "...to get the car painted and build another motor." But, with 29 more weekly winners to be drawn, the outcome of this race to the finish line is still up in the air.

"We congratulate Jerry on being the first weekly winner," said Raceway Media co-founder Ryan Maturski. "We wouldn't be here today without his support and the support of all of our members. This is our way of saying thank you."
