Sanford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a minor in Video Production from Mary Baldwin College and has leadership skills developed during four years at the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership, the only all female corps of cadets in the world. In her previous roles, Sanford worked as an intern at many non-profit organizations promoting and planning events, and managing social networking pages and websites.
