Aston Villa F.C., one of the twelve founding members of the Football League in 1888, will purchase a HydroWorx 2000 Series Pool complete with underwater treadmill, moveable floor and underwater video monitoring system. Hot and cold therapy pools manufactured by HydroWorx will be installed as well.

Randy Lerner, current Cleveland Brown owner and HydroWorx customer, took over as Chairman of the Aston Villa F.C. on September 19, 2006. His impact was felt immediately as plans for a new, state-of-the-art £8 million Training Ground development were resumed, with Villa planning to move into the complex next summer.

Operations Director Steve Stride said, "These facilities should ensure a Training Ground that is comparable, if not better, than any of those of our competitors." He added: "These new facilities will be state-of-the-art and will provide the very best players with everything they could wish for at a Premiership football club."

Current HydroWorx customer, Manchester United, was one of four different clubs former Chairman Doug Ellis went to see. Bringing along an architect, Aston Villa F.C. combined the best features from all four clubs as well as their own ideas in hopes of achieving a facility that will compare with the best.

In professional sports, injuries are frequent and very costly. That is why Chelsea and Manchester United, currently first and second respectively in the 06/07 Premiership Standings, each purchased a HydroWorx pool complete with a variable speed underwater treadmill, directional resistance jets and video monitoring system.

According to Rob Swire, Head Physiotherapist for the Manchester United Football Club, "HydroWorx provides better all around conditioning and strengthening." For that reason, Manchester United purchased a HydroWorx 500 Series Pool for their Carrington Training Centre.

Many top trainers say athletes can heal faster when they rehabilitate injuries on a HydroWorx underwater treadmill. In the near weightless environment underwater, an athlete can walk or run without over-taxing the joint.

The pools are great training tools as well. Running legend and long distance coach Alberto Salazar incorporates HydroWorx treadmill workouts into his athletes' routines at the Nike Oregon Project. Salazar believes that adding miles without adding wear and tear is a key to improving performance for American distance runners.
