BIOROCK 'Rocks' the sewage treatment world! Popularity:

2009-10-13 05:27:07
Maureen Webb

A sewage treatment plant that uses no electricity will be unveiled at the Homebuilding and Renovating show, NEC, Birmingham, March 18th to 21st 2010.

The BIOROCK sustainable non-electric sewage treatment plant has full EN12566-3 2005 Certification.

The process is powered by natural air currents and the air is ‘chimneyed’ through the unit by way of a low air inlet pipe at the plant and a high soil vent pipe without the need for any pumps or blowers.

This sewage treatment plant is far more sustainable than the traditional septic tank. It requires NO electricity for the process, saving over 1000KW of electricity and 0.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions/year for a 3 bed. house and unlike the annual emptying requirement of a septic system, the BIOROCK emptying interval is 3 to 4 years. The effluent quality is superb at 8:8:9.

The BIOROCK is manufactured in recyclable HDPE polyethylene, thus further reducing its carbon footprint. It can also be added to an existing septic tank to clean the effluent to 8:8:9 standard.

One of the benefits of the remarkable BIOROCK system is that it can be left unused for months with no bacterial death whatsoever. This makes it the ideal choice for Holiday lets, campsites and other seasonal situations where the majority of sewage treatment plants will not work. As the ‘start-up’ period for full digestion is only 24 hours instead of the usual 6 to 8 weeks, the advantages for the tourist Industry are immense.

With the great emphasis on ‘Sustainability’ in the building industry, this plant breaks new ground as the first ‘Green’ sewage treatment plant in the UK.

Specialized in: Sewage - Wastewater - Pollution - Carbon Footprint - Sustainability - Green - Greenhouse Gases - Carbon Emissions
