TechConnect World, in association with the Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI), and the Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI), today announced that more than 2,700 presentations will be featured in the Clean Technology '09, Nanotech '09 and TechConnect Summit events, taking place as part of TechConnect World in Houston, on May 3-7, 2009.

"The upcoming 2009 conference program is significantly larger than anything we've produced in the past, which is necessary to address all of the relevant topics and policy issues across the Nano, Bio and Clean Technology industries," said Bart Romanowicz, Executive Director of NSTI. "Thousands of presenters will reveal their latest innovations, showcase their best practices, and share their advanced research discoveries with the Fortune 500, government, and investment communities -- in a manner that helps to create the alliances that are needed to commercialize technology, and bring new solutions to market."

Attendees in Houston will have access to the content of all three venues. The subject matter for each conference is organized across the following tracks:

The Clean Technology '09 Conference, now in its third year, features a broad range of advanced technology presentations, business and policy panels and exciting early-stage and commercial company overviews. Participants will be able to sample the future of clean technology through the following tracks:

1. Sustainable Industries Track - addressing sustainable best-practices; green chemistry; green building; green computing; emissions & waste management; remediation & brownfield development; and transportation (including electric & hybrid realities, alternative fuels, emissions reduction, and engine design).
2. Traditional Energy Track - covering efficiency and environmental advances in: oil & gas; natural gas; coal; carbon storage and sequestration; and nuclear energy.
3. Renewable Energy Track - highlighting solar; wind; bio energy; geothermal; marine/tidal technologies; market developments; and policy challenges.
4. Infrastructure Track - focusing on water technology & management; smart grid; storage technologies & applications; and hydrogen.
5. Energy & Environment Track - features presentations covering: energy storage & distribution; water technologies; nanotech for oil & gas; photovoltaics; and environment, safety & society issues.
6. Finance & Strategy Track - examines finance & investment; green market strategy; carbon (including policy & regulation); and the IP venture program, which is the world's largest peer-reviewed clean technology venture & partnering forum.

Now in its 12th year, the Nanotech '09 Conference continues to grow at a phenomenal rate, covering the following areas:

1. Fabrication, Characterization, & Tools Track - features presentations covering: computational models, simulation, and software tools; NanoFab manufacturing and instrumentation; MEMS Fab-design; manufacturer & instrumentation; bio analytical instrumentation; and biosensors & diagnostics.
2. Advanced Materials Track - this track alone features hundreds of presentations on material development and applications in the areas of consumer goods; polymer nanotech; coatings, surfaces & films; composites; nano-particles in soft materials, and a host of other topics.
3. Electronics & Microsystems Track - covering sensors & systems; MEMS & NEMS devices & applications; lighting & displays; micro & nano fluidics; nano electronics & photonics, and more.
4. Medical & Biotech Track - focusing on cancer research; drug delivery; nano medicine; Bio-nano materials; biosensors & diagnostics; phage engineering, and other topics.
5. Business & Strategy Track - addressing novel products, investments & business; education & policy; the IP & Licensing Forum; and the Early Stage Venture & Partnering Forum.

The TechConnect Summit ties these conferences and technologies together, by providing a corporate needs forum where executives from Fortune 500 companies present their technological challenges (in the areas of Clean Technology, Nanotechnology, and Biotechnology) to the academic and research communities in attendance. The IP and Venture Forums provide a venue for early-stage companies and universities to showcase their ideas to investors, and executives from larger corporations, to cultivate partnerships, identify funding opportunities, and accelerate the process of commercializing their research.

The session list for the TechConnect Summit includes corporate needs presentations from leading Fortune 500 companies such as: Honda Motor Corporation, BASF, Kodak Company, Samsung Ventures, Medtronic, Merck Research, Dow Chemicals, Omron, Sanyo, and many others.

Additional information on the Keynote addresses for the combined conferences will be made available in a subsequent news release.
